Join our award-winning family-run garage. We are looking for a capable, experienced all-round technician who takes pride in their work and is confident tackling everything from routine maintenance to larger mechanical repairs, diagnostics and fault finding. This isn’t a position where you’ll spend every day carrying out basic servicing. We want someone with the experience and confidence to get stuck into more involved jobs, diagnose problems properly and see repairs through from start to finish. You’ll be joining a friendly independent garage where quality workmanship matters and where you’ll have the equipment and support needed to do the job properly.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 qualified in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or hold an equivalent qualification
- Experience working in a busy workshop
- Confident carrying out:
- Cambelts and timing belt replacements
- Clutches and flywheels
- Brakes, suspension and steering
- Servicing and general repairs
- Mechanical and electrical fault finding
- Vehicle diagnostics using fault codes and live data
- More involved mechanical repairs from diagnosis through to completion
- Ability to think for themselves rather than simply replacing parts
- At least three years of workshop experience
- A full UK driving licence
- Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
- Ability to work independently when required
- Positive attitude to the team
- An MOT Tester qualification would be an advantage but isn’t essential
