About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our IT department as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our core business systems for a 12 month fixed term contract.
Reporting directly to the IT Manager, you will act as the primary point of contact for all end-user support issues. Beyond day-to-day support, you will collaborate with end users and senior leadership to gather requirements, ensuring our systems continually evolve to serve the needs of the business. This role offers high visibility across all levels of the organisation and provides excellent opportunities to get involved in key business projects.
What You'll Do.
- Act as the SME across all core business systems, integrations, and underlying development.
- Provide first-line support for system-related incidents, service requests, and changes via our IT Service Management platform, escalating to external vendors when necessary.
- Ensure timely resolution of all support tickets in line with established SLAs while delivering excellent service to end users.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the wider business to ensure swift issue resolution and accurate requirement gathering.
- Work closely with operations teams to understand business processes and align them with our systems.
- Analyse systems to identify gaps and inefficiencies, subsequently implementing appropriate solutions and enhancements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with our system vendors to stay up to date with their development roadmaps and identify beneficial new features.
- Collaborate with the wider IT and Transformation teams to ensure high levels of both reactive and proactive service capability.
- Maintain the integrity of the company’s systems and data in partnership with the IT team.
- Create, update, and maintain comprehensive system policies, procedures, and documentation.
Your Background and Experience.
- Proven ability to capture, understand, and map complex business processes to IT systems.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships to understand user pain points and solve real business problems.
- A solid technical understanding of systems architecture, inter-dependencies, and integrations.
- Experience delivering new starter and ongoing training to ensure effective system adoption across the business.
- Ability to align vendor product roadmaps and visions with overall business strategy.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and adaptability.
- Technical proficiency combined with basic project management skills.
