About the role: We are looking for an experienced Data Management Lead to support a strategic data programme through to September 2026. This role will focus on improving the quality, governance, structure, and operational management of workforce and colleague data used across labour scheduling, workforce planning, and operational decision-making processes. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, and technology functions to establish scalable and trusted data management practices within a large enterprise environment.
What you'll do:
- Lead data management initiatives focused on colleague and labour scheduling data domains
- Improve data quality, consistency, governance, and ownership across workforce-related datasets
- Work closely with operational, HR, technology, and analytics teams to support critical business initiatives
- Help establish scalable governance processes and data management standards
- Support data remediation, lineage, metadata, and stewardship activities
- Drive stakeholder engagement across business and technical teams
- Identify and address data challenges impacting workforce planning and operational reporting
- Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to improve data flows and controls
- Support the wider enterprise data strategy through effective governance and data management practices
What you'll need:
- Strong experience delivering Data Management or Data Governance initiatives within enterprise organisations
- Experience working with workforce, HR, colleague, or operational data domains is highly beneficial
- Strong understanding of data quality, governance, lineage, metadata, and stewardship principles
- Ability to engage effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
- Experience operating within complex transformation environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently while driving delivery across multiple teams
- Retail or large-scale operational environment experience is advantageous
- Familiarity with modern enterprise data platforms and governance tooling is beneficial
