About Us
We’re a bold fintech startup set to redefine the payment services world. As we gear up to secure our Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license with the FCA, we need a seasoned Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to join our leadership team at this exciting growth phase.
Your Role
As our MLRO, you’ll be the cornerstone of our EMI license application and the architect of our compliance framework. You’ll take on the FCA-designated SMF17 role, spearheading our fight against financial crime and ensuring we meet every regulatory standard.
What You’ll Do
- Lead our EMI license application, from drafting policies to liaising with the FCA.
- Build and manage a tailored AML/CFT framework for our innovative business model.
- Act as our go-to person for regulators and authorities.
- Design cutting-edge transaction monitoring, KYC, and suspicious activity reporting systems.
- Conduct risk assessments and embed a risk-based approach to compliance.
- Train our team and foster a culture of integrity and accountability.
- Keep us ahead of regulatory changes with your expertise.
What You Bring
- 3+ years as an MLRO, Compliance Officer, or AML expert in an EMI, PSP, or fintech setting.
- Deep knowledge of UK AML/CFT laws and FCA rules, especially for EMIs.
- Proven success supporting EMI license applications (bonus if you’ve nailed it before!).
- Expertise in financial crime risks and control frameworks in payments.
- Ability to craft policies and risk assessments from scratch.
- Eligibility for FCA approval as SMF17 with a spotless "fit and proper" record.
- Stellar communication skills to influence at Board level and beyond.
