Overview

In this payroll-focused role, you will manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple contracts within set timelines, ensuring compliance with pay agreements and statutory requirements.

You’ll set up new starters, handle leavers and termination payments, and compute redundancy and statutory payments.

You’ll generate reports for various departments, coordinate with HR, pensions, HMRC, and other third parties, and respond to payroll inquiries.

Maintaining accurate records and staying current on payroll legislation are core duties, all within Bilfinger’s framework of operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll end-to-end across multiple contracts within deadlines
  • Apply pay agreements and calculate redundancy/notice payments
  • Set up new starters and process leavers/termination payments
  • Compute statutory and occupational payments (SMP, SPP, SSP, etc) and sick benefits
  • Produce departmental payroll reports
  • Liaise with other departments to meet deadlines and ensure clear communication
  • Coordinate with pension providers, HMRC and courts
  • Handle payroll queries promptly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems
  • Stay up-to-date with payroll legislation and enforce policies
  • Key requirements
  • Payroll experience in a fast-paced, multi-site, multi-contract environment
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of payroll and pension legislation
  • Up-to-date knowledge of HMRC reporting including benefits in kind
  • CIPP payroll qualification would be desirable but not essential
