As a Project Control Manager (Early Contractor Involvement) your activities will include the following:

  • Pre-Contract Engagement & Support
    • Working with the proposal/estimating, design, project management, construction and commercial teams during early contractor involvement (ECI) and bid phases to:
    • Build relationships with clients and supply chain, creating a collaborative approach to project development and delivery.
    • Create clear, credible execution programmes and project controls strategies based on good practice that can form the foundation for full project delivery.
    • Support coherent and competitive estimates and submissions through schedule, resource, progress, reporting and risk input.
    • Work across the Bilfinger organisation to support development of execution strategies across the full project lifecycle.
  • Governance, Assurance and Continuous Improvement
    • Support, and where agreed lead, improvement initiatives for Bilfinger project controls.
    • Provide support for peak workload or vacancy situations within project controls functions.
    • Carry out governance, schedule quality and project controls assurance checks on live projects and provide guidance to meet Bilfinger best practice.
  • Project Execution Project Controls Management
    • Act as the Project Control Manager with responsibility for establishing, leading and maintaining an integrated controls function, including:
    • Develop, implement and maintain the Project Controls Plan, reporting calendar, project controls procedures, data structures, coding, baselines and governance arrangements.
    • Lead planning and scheduling activities, including programme development, baseline management, schedule updates, critical path analysis, milestone tracking, lookahead planning and programme narrative production.
    • Manage project progress measurement, rules of credit, earned value, quantities, productivity tracking and performance reporting across engineering, procurement, construction, completions and subcontracted scopes.
    • Coordinate cost control, forecasting, cost reporting and variance analysis in conjunction with commercial and project management teams.
    • Support change control and contractual time matters by ensuring approved change is incorporated into the programme, forecasts and project records.
    • Facilitate risk and opportunity management, including schedule risk input, contingency analysis and escalation of threats to project objectives.
    • Produce and coordinate weekly and monthly project controls reporting, dashboards, period-end submissions and management information for the project, client and senior leadership.
    • Assure the quality, integrity and consistency of project controls data across Primavera P6, Power BI, Sypro, Safran Risk, Excel and other project systems as applicable.
    • Lead, coordinate and mentor planners, cost engineers, project controls engineers and reporting resources assigned to the project.
    • Provide early warning of schedule, cost, productivity, resource, interface and reporting issues, recommending corrective actions to support predictable project delivery.
