Bilfinger UK are looking for a Lead Quality Inspector to join us at our West Carr fabrication shop in Hull to support Hinkley Point C. This is a permanent staff position based on site.

Experience Required
  • Experience in a Quality Inspection role within a regulated manufacturing environment such as nuclear, energy, oil & gas, aerospace, or similarly controlled industries.
  • Demonstrable experience leading or coordinating inspection activities, including allocation of work and oversight of other inspectors.
  • Strong experience inspecting fabricated steelwork, pressure boundary components, pipework, and welded assemblies.
  • Practical experience working with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Plans, and manufacturing documentation packs.
  • Experience managing Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs), including involvement in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Experience supporting or leading client, third‑party, and regulatory inspections or audits.
  • Working knowledge of nuclear quality expectations, traceability requirements, and inspection hold‑point control.
Qualifications Required
  • Recognised Quality or Inspection qualification such as: CSWIP Welding Inspector 3.1, PCN / ISO 9712 Visual Inspection certification, or equivalent inspection qualification supported by relevant experience.
  • Formal understanding of relevant quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001); nuclear quality experience desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Aware of nuclear safety culture and regulatory expectations within a licensed or equivalent controlled site.
  • NDT qualifications (UT, RT, PT, MT) advantageous but not essential depending on inspection scope.
