Location: Reading

Duration: 4 months

Rotation: 10 days on & 4 days off

Responsibilities:

  • Enforcing the company safe working ethic including enforcement of safety regulations, health and safety and adherence to proper codes and standards is a primary commitment.
  • Keep up-to-date with all electrical legislation, codes and standards and ensure all employees in your charge are up-to-date with any changes or amendments.
  • Have experience of and an understanding of both high and low voltage electrical systems.
  • Have practical experience and skills in the installation, repair and maintenance of all types of high and low voltage electrical systems.
  • Be knowledgeable in the type of tools, materials and equipment used in the electrical trade and their correct use.
  • Supervise and set work for your workforce.
  • Ensure the workspace is in an acceptable condition and suitable for use.
  • Ensure that all controls are in place where required to reduce risk and that all essential safety requirements are made aware to the team before works commence.
  • Continually monitor quality of workmanship and standards during installation works.
  • Apply supervisory techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with employees in your charge.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations of personnel.
  • Recommendation for promotion/team roles.
  • Discipline of personnel.
  • Review of plans for new projects, including inspection of new structures to ensure compatibility with existing electrical codes and maintenance standards.
  • Maintenance of various records, submission of reports, including timesheets.
  • Develop, implement and monitor the safe systems of work & site specific documentation that we use.
  • Estimating time and materials requirements for assigned work projects and tasks.
  • Assist the engineering team with any design requirements including surveys and reports.
  • Work with commercial awareness to ensure budgeting guidelines are met and all works are completed on schedule and within budget cost.
  • Working with the Quality Team to ensure ITP, LTQR & check sheet are up to date and compliant.

Qualifications:

  • Completed a Fully Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
  • JIB Registered Trade Card with Approved Electrician Grading or higher (Essential).
  • City And Guilds 2380 18th Edition Qualification (Essential).
  • City and Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) in Electrical Testing and Inspection.
  • SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training) Qualification or equivalent for Supervisor Level (Essential).
  • Three Day First Aid Training (Essential).
  • Must be able to obtain or hold current Security Clearance (Essential).
