Responsible for providing expert technical support, inspection, coordination, and oversight of all valve related activities, ensuring correct selection, installation, testing, maintenance, and readiness of valves throughout construction and precommissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the project’s subject matter expert for all valve types including isolation, control, check, relief, and safety valves.
- Provide technical guidance on valve selection, sizing, materials, pressure ratings, and application suitability.
- Review engineering documentation such as valve datasheets, P&IDs, isometrics, and manufacturer technical literature.
- Support installation activities, ensuring valves are correctly oriented, protected, and installed per specifications.
- Oversee valve inspections, function checks, leak testing, and precommissioning activities.
- Manage valve registers, tracking, certification, and material traceability.
- Liaise with engineering, QA/QC, precommissioning, and commissioning teams to resolve valve related issues.
- Evaluate and report on valve defects, nonconformances, and operational problems.
- Coordinate with valve OEMs, specialist contractors, and client representatives as required.
- Support system readiness, walkdowns, punch listing, and commissioning turnover packages.
- Any other reasonable tasks directed by the line manager.
- Technical expertise in nuclear safety-related valves.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Attention to detail and a thorough understanding of project management processes.
- Proficiency with relevant software tools and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
- Experience in preparation of procedures and documentation related to valve handling and installation.
- Extensive experience in valve engineering, preferably within the nuclear or power plant industry.
- Strong knowledge of nuclear safety standards, codes, and regulations.
- Proven experience with valve design, testing, and installation in a nuclear environment.
- Familiarity with relevant quality assurance and inspection procedures.
