An onsite technical/admin clerk

plays a vital support role in engineering, construction, or industrial projects by handling documentation, data management, and administrative coordination directly at the project site. Here’s a snapshot of what the role typically involves:

  • Document Control: Managing technical documents, drawings, and reports—ensuring they’re properly filed, updated, and accessible to engineers and project managers.
  • Data Entry & Tracking: Updating spreadsheets, databases, and logs related to project progress, materials, or equipment.
  • Team Support: Assisting engineers, Superintendent and supervisors with compiling reports, preparing manuals, and chasing up deliverables.
  • Communication: Liaising with internal teams and sometimes clients to ensure smooth information flow.
  • Software Use: Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word), Adobe Acrobat, and sometimes project‑specific systems.
  • Work Packs: Creation of workpacks.
  • Administrative Duties: Ordering of supplies.
  • Safety Passport or IOSH an advantage.
  • Based at Royston, with occasional travel to other company sites as operational needs arise. Accommodation can be provided for travelling clerks.

Working 11 day rolling fortnight, 10 x 10hrs days and 1 x 6hrs day. All hours paid at basic rate.
