Role Overview
We are looking to appoint a Scaffold Design Engineer to join our growing Scaffold Design Team. The role will involve delivering high‑quality scaffold design solutions for Bilfinger UK’s onshore and offshore projects, working closely with clients, site teams, and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will report to the Scaffold Design Manager and be expected to manage assigned design tasks professionally, safely, and efficiently, in line with Bilfinger procedures and industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide scaffold design engineering services to Bilfinger UK across offshore and onshore sites.
- Design complex and large‑scale access and load bearing scaffolds.
- Liaise with clients and site teams to develop, resolve, and deliver scaffold design requirements.
- Produce design drawings, calculations, and technical details in accordance with the relevant Standards, Industry best practice and company procedures.
- Carry out onshore and offshore site surveys, with clear follow‑up reports and design actions.
- Ensure full compliance with Bilfinger internal processes, procedures, and safety standards.
- Support the development and implementation of scaffold design workpacks.
- Promote scaffold design services and innovative access solutions across the wider Bilfinger group.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, project teams, and operational personnel.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Background in an engineering role (structural, civil, mechanical, or similar).
- HND (or higher) in Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Sound understanding of structural mechanics and engineering principles.
Desirable
- Experience in scaffold and/or temporary works design.
- Practical knowledge of scaffold systems and components.
- Degree (BEng / MEng) in Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience using structural analysis software.
- 3D CAD modelling experience.
