The Role
This position supports bid and sales teams by providing cost information for new business proposals, aiding project delivery, and procurement of subcontracts and equipment.
Key Activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead supplier selection and contract awards.
- Assist the Bid Team with cost data for proposals.
- Support operational teams during project execution.
- Conduct tender analysis and define evaluation criteria.
- Lead negotiations and define strategies.
- Create and manage procurement plans for major projects.
- Review subcontracts with legal support.
- Manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring performance in terms of time, quality, and costs.
- Ensure compliance with Bilfinger SE standards across departments.
- Track contract commitments and manage change orders.
- Monitor KPIs and evaluate capital and revenue options for decision-making.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in a senior purchasing role, preferably in a project environment.
- Knowledge of procurement systems and contract forms such as NEC3, MF1, ICHEME.
- Understanding of plant and equipment management and purchasing.
- Experience with change management and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work under pressure within a project team.
- Membership of a professional body (essential).
- Postgraduate or professional purchasing/management qualification (preferred).
