Highview Power Carrington – LAES Project (FOAK) 50 MW / 300 MWh Liquid Air Energy Storage Facility | Greater Manchester. The project utilises proprietary LAES technology, converting surplus renewable electricity into stored liquid air, with later pressurisation and reheating to drive turbines for electricity generation.

Principal contractor for Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation (MEI) construction, including structural steelwork. Delivery of complex, safety‑critical systems within a novel technology environment. Working within a large high‑performing, multi‑disciplinary integrated delivery team on a technically challenging FOAK scheme. A landmark project combining innovation, engineering excellence, and collaboration to deliver one of the UK’s most advanced energy storage assets.

Permit To Work Coordinator – Role Overview

As a Permit To Work Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring all activities carried out on site have been performed under a valid Permit To Work certificate, with the appropriate isolations in place (if required). You will be site based in the project PTW office, with visits to site to scope out planned work. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of a large-scale mechanical project, ensuring the efficiency and safety of all activities taking place on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review Permit To Work Applications and ensure the request is relevant to the work to be performed
  • Identify any mechanical, process or E&I isolations that may be required
  • Make work site visits to planned activities
  • Collaborate with project / construction managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to plan and schedule all work activities
  • Coordinate with the procurement / materials team to ensure that resources will be available in time for IWP execution
  • Identify potential risks and issues, and proactively address them to avoid delays or safety concerns
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure all stakeholders are aligned on project timelines, scope, and deliverables
  • Attend Daily Coordination and PTW Meetings
