Instrument Technician required on Kuora Global Runcorn

Responsibilities

  • Follow plant policies and repair procedures
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair and replace process instruments as a part of the plant's maintenance program
  • Maintain process instruments including valves, vibration monitors and other instruments
  • Perform required environmental compliance testing and documentation
  • Reduce cost of repairing equipment while maintaining or increasing the quality of repairs
  • Work closely with plant operations to evaluate both routine and emergency instrument work
  • Wear proper safety equipment in appropriate areas
  • Be able to move in and around process equipment and confined spaces

Competencies

  • Check, examine and record on Customer Databases (IT Averse)
  • Comprehend technical drawings and other visual instructions
  • Coordinate with multiple departments
  • Inspect equipment
  • Install and dismantle equipment
  • Maintain equipment

Experience

  • Maintenance experience in the oil & gas, chemical industry or other regulated industry – Essential
  • Extensive experience working in hazardous areas – Essential
  • Detailed knowledge of analyser equipment – Desirable
  • Proof testing of safety instrumented systems

Qualifications

  • Relevant approved apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent – Essential
  • Minimum City & Guilds / ONC certificate in Instrument Engineering or equivalent – Essential
  • Hold a Full UK driving licence and to drive company vehicles where appropriate – Essential
  • Detailed knowledge of DSEAR and ATEX legislation (COMPEX 01-04) – Essential
  • SBT 01-02 – Desirable
