Mechanical QA / QC Inspector – PUMA Project

Mitsubishi Chemicals UK is building a new production plant adjacent to its existing facility at Saltend Chemicals Park in Hull, called the PUMA project.

The Mechanical QA / QC Inspector will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and integrity of mechanical systems installed on the PUMA construction project.

The role involves regular inspections, assessments, and tests on mechanical equipment/systems to verify compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications.

Key responsibilities include the following

  • Inspect and assess the installation of mechanical equipment in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Conduct visual inspections to detect any defects or damage to mechanical equipment.
  • Compile and maintain the Flange Break Register.
  • Review and interpret piping isometrics and PIDs to ensure proper installation and alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control procedures during inspections.
  • Prepare inspection reports, documenting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions required.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and contractors to address any issues found during inspections.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner, including inspection records and non‑conformance reports.
  • Conduct final acceptance inspections for completed mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and best practices.
