Highview Power Carrington – LAES Project (FOAK) 50 MW / 300 MWh Liquid Air Energy Storage Facility | Greater Manchester. The project utilises proprietary LAES technology, converting surplus renewable electricity into stored liquid air, with later pressurisation and reheating to drive turbines for electricity generation.

The Role: As a Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) your role is to ensure that all non-permanent works such as temporary power, lighting, fencing, access, structures, scaffolding, formwork, shoring are safely and efficiently planned, designed, checked, and erected. The TWC ensures adherence to design and safety standards, conducts risk assessments, monitors temporary works, and coordinates with various stakeholders to maintain structural integrity and project efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Planning: Overseeing the preparation of suitable temporary works designs and ensuring they are checked for safety and compliance. Identifying and mitigating risks associated with temporary works by way of RAMS.
  • On-Site Supervision: Monitoring the erection and use of temporary works to ensure they are built and maintained correctly.
  • Compliance: Making sure all temporary works meet relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Coordination: Liaising with designers, engineers, site teams, and other contractors to ensure temporary works don't compromise the main construction.
  • Documentation: Maintaining records of designs, checks, and any alterations to temporary works.
  • Stopping Work: Having the authority to stop work if temporary works are not satisfactory or safe.
