Highview Power Carrington – LAES Project (FOAK) 50MW / 300MWh Liquid Air Energy Storage Facility | Greater Manchester. The project utilises proprietary LAES technology, converting surplus renewable electricity into stored liquid air, with later pressurisation and reheating to drive turbines for electricity generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sub-Contractor Management: Collaborate with the Procurement and Project Management teams to identify suitable pipe fabrication sub-contractors. Evaluate potential subcontractors based on their capabilities, experience, and track record. Establish and maintain productive relationships with selected subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Project Planning: Work closely with Project Managers to understand the scope of pipe fabrication projects, their timelines, and resource requirements. Assist in creating comprehensive project plans, taking into account sub-contractor schedules, manpower, and materials needed for successful project delivery.
  • Quality Compliance: Ensure that all pipe fabrications meet the required quality standards and adhere to industry codes and regulations. Conduct regular inspections and audits of the fabrication processes to identify and resolve any potential issues promptly.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Compliance: Promote and enforce strict adherence to HSE policies and procedures during all stages of pipe fabrication. Collaborate with the HSE team to conduct risk assessments and implement necessary safety measures.
  • Cost Control: Monitor sub‑contractor costs and identify cost‑saving opportunities and work towards optimizing project budgets without compromising quality and safety.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison between various internal departments, project teams, and sub-contractors. Facilitate effective communication channels to ensure everyone is informed about project progress, changes, and challenges.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise during pipe fabrication projects promptly. Collaborate with stakeholders to find practical solutions and mitigate project risks.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of pipe fabrication processes, subcontractor agreements, and project‑related documentation. Prepare regular reports on project progress, sub‑contractor performance, and any other relevant metrics for management review.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for process improvement within pipe fabrication operations. Implement best practices and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
