Bilfinger UK are looking for a Lead Engineer to join us on our busy Puma Project based on Saltend in Hull. As a Lead Engineer, activities will include the following, but are not limited to:
- Provide technical leadership and coordination to the site engineering function, supporting multi-discipline construction delivery and safe execution.
- Develop and maintain work packs / job packs, method statements and sequencing inputs to enable effective workface planning.
- Lead constructability and readiness reviews of issued-for-construction information and raise RFIs / design change notices to close out technical gaps.
- Coordinate technical interfaces with the Client’s IPMT, E+P Contractor and other contractors, including attendance at interface and progress meetings.
- Maintain site engineering records (red-lines, field changes and technical queries) to support as-built documentation, turnover and change control.
- Support pre-commissioning, mechanical completion and handover activities, including punch management and test / turnover documentation.
Experience
- Chartered Engineer with extensive experience leading multi-discipline engineering, production control and delivery on large industrial, petrochemical and offshore fabrication projects.
- Proven capability in work packaging, planning input, progress monitoring and reporting, with strong client interface and stakeholder management skills.
- Experienced in constructability reviews, heavy lift / loadout planning support, lessons learned and commercially aware technical record keeping.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree Educated in Relevant Field.
- Chartered Engineer (Desirable).
- Strong leadership and coordination skills with ability to manage multi-discipline engineering support to construction.
- Experience of work packaging / production control, ensuring drawings, materials and constraints are managed ahead of planned start dates.
- Competence in planning and progress monitoring (e.g. Primavera P6 and/or MS Project) and production of weekly / monthly progress reports.
- Working knowledge of NEC contract administration concepts (e.g. early warnings, compensation events) and robust technical record keeping.
- Strong communication, facilitation and workshop skills (risk analysis, lessons learned, performance improvement).
- High proficiency in MS Office.
