Mitsubishi Chemicals UK are to build a new production plant adjacent to their existing plant on Saltend Chemicals Park in Hull, named the PUMA project.
The Mechanical QA / QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and integrity of mechanical systems installed on the PUMA construction project.
The inspector will perform regular inspections, assessments, and tests on mechanical equipment / systems to ensure they meet industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications.
This position requires attention to detail, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
You will be site based in the PUMA project offices.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale construction project, ensuring the quality and safety of all mechanical systems.
- As a Mechanical QA / QC Inspector, your activities will include the following:
- Inspect and assess the installation of mechanical equipment in accordance with relevant codes and standards
- Conduct visual inspections to detect any defects or damage to mechanical equipment
- Compile and maintain the Flange Break Register
- Review and interpret piping isometrics and PIDs to ensure proper installation and alignment
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control procedures during inspections
- Prepare inspection reports, documenting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions required
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and contractors to address any issues found during inspections
- Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner, including inspection records, non-conformance reports
- Conduct final acceptance inspections for completed mechanical equipment / systems
- Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and best practices.
