The QA / QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and integrity of EC&I systems installed on the PUMA construction project. The inspector will perform regular inspections, assessments, and tests on E&I systems to ensure they meet industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications. This position requires attention to detail, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

You will be site based in the PUMA project offices. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale construction projects, ensuring the quality and safety of all EC&I systems.

As a QA / QC Inspector, your activities will include the following:

  • Inspect and assess the installation of E&I systems in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to the approved Project Quality Plan.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control procedures during inspections.
  • Conduct visual inspections & record any defects or damage associated with all E&I equipment & materials.
  • Follow up on identified deviations by collaborating with engineers, project managers, and contractors to address any issues found during inspections to ensure compliance is achieved.
  • Review and interpret cable schedules, block diagrams, SLD, Loop drawings and PIDs to ensure proper installation and alignment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Hazardous Area Inspections.
  • Witness Testing of equipment, including instrument calibration, cable insulation tests & loop tests.
  • Ensure all test documentation, as-builts, and handover documentation are completed, up-to-date and traceable.
  • Prepare inspection reports, documenting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions required.
  • Conduct final acceptance inspections for completed E&I systems.
  • Provide input to Weekly and Monthly QC reports as required by the QC Lead.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installations (City & Guilds or Equivalent).
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent level 3 Inspection & testing Qualification.
  • CompExo0 EX0 01-04.
