Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance & Project Support: Support the Quality Advisor in the implementation and maintenance of project Quality Management Systems. Provide day‑to‑day quality support to project teams, ensuring quality requirements are understood and applied. Assist in ensuring quality systems are communicated effectively to project stakeholders. Assist in the production of the Project Quality control Plan and its implementation aligned with the delivery programme. Support the promotion of Right First Time methodology to reduce defects and non‑conformances.
  • Audits, Inspections & Assurance: Support the planning and execution of internal and external audits in line with the project audit programme. Participate in audits and inspections, gathering evidence and supporting the production of audit reports and records. Assist with tracking audit findings, non‑conformances, observations, and improvement actions to closure. Verify and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions arising from audits and inspections.
  • Quality Control & Technical Documentation: Assist with the preparation, review, and maintenance of Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and supporting QA documentation. Liaise with Project Quality Control Inspectors to ensure Hold Points and Witness Points are identified, scheduled, and recorded correctly. Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, procedures, and technical documentation at project and site level.
  • Non‑Conformance & Continuous Improvement: Support the capture of all quality‑related data in internal reporting systems, including NCs, observations, and improvement opportunities. Assist with non‑conformance investigations and apply quality tools and techniques to support root‑cause analysis and prevention of recurrence. Contribute to quality performance monitoring against agreed KPIs. Actively support and promote continuous improvement initiatives within projects and across the business. Support supplier and subcontractor quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with company and project requirements. Review supplier and subcontractor QA documentation under supervision of the Quality Advisor. Assist with supplier quality requirements during procurement and tendering stages as required.
  • Documentation, Processes & Procedures: Support document control activities to ensure current, approved documentation is available and used at point of work. Assist in reviewing and improving work instructions and procedures alongside process owners to ensure they remain practical, compliant, and effective.
  • Site & Stakeholder Engagement: Provide quality engineering support across multiple sites as required. Attend project and site meetings, providing quality input and technical support. Work collaboratively with the SHE team to support safety awareness and integrate quality and safety practices at site level. Support communication with Client QA representatives to maintain transparency and alignment.
  • General Responsibilities: Travel to project sites as required. Undertake any other tasks requiring Quality Engineering input in support of the Quality Advisor and wider project objectives.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Good Engineering and QA/QC background.
  • CQI Membership or looking towards accreditation – Essential.
  • Recognised and current Internal Auditor qualification – Essential.
  • Recognised and current External Auditor qualification – Desirable.
  • Must have a full understanding on how to deliver internal audits of management systems and be able to communicate outcomes.
  • Development of project QA documentation (Quality Plans, ITPs etc) and review of supplier QA documentation.
  • Demonstrable, current knowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems in a regulated environment such as construction, petrochemical, aerospace etc.
  • Problem Resolution - Must have exceptional skills to problem solving and have resolution tools and techniques and the ability to articulate their use in any given situation.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with KPIs and performance monitoring techniques.
  • The ability to understand and interpret ISO Management System Standards, technical drawings and specifications is desirable.
  • Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Office suite - Essential.
  • Good communication and report writing skills.
  • Good understanding of ISO 45001 & 14001.
  • +5 years’ experience working in a highly regulated industry (Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Aviation, Nuclear, Construction).
  • Pipework, steelwork and insulation knowledge – Desirable.
  • Detailed knowledge of related specifications (API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, PED, etc.) Advantageous.
  • Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Full clean driving licence.
