The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
We have an opportunity available to join our busy team, working a shift rota over 5 days. Early and late starts dependent on shift week. Reception experience in a demanding, fast-paced environment is essential, and experience within a healthcare setting would be an advantage. Must be a quick learner, with a friendly calm approach and work well within a team setting. Good customer service and communication skills are essential, via face-to-face, telephone and computer. Must be able to work additional hours when required, which includes evenings and weekends.
Main duties of the job include providing reception duties to Bilbrook Medical Centre as a whole, establishing and maintaining good working relationships and clear lines of communication with the Practice Manager, all practice staff, and the public.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Confidentiality must be maintained at all times. No information about patients, either medical or personal details, is disclosed to persons other than those employed by or attached to the practice for whom such information is relevant.

Job responsibilities:
- Cover reception, dealing with enquiries and directing patients and visitors.
- Making/changing appointments on the computer system.
- Booking home visits, queries and complaints from patients and other agencies, forwarding messages and taking appropriate action.
- Ordering ambulances, both routine and emergency.
- Maintain a visitors log and ensure all visitors are correctly signed in.
- Maintain the reception area/equipment.
- Assist with post, sorting, distribution and preparing for posting as requested.
- General administrative duties, use of office equipment, scanner, laminator, shredder.
- Opening premises and securing them at night when required (depending on shift).
- Provide cover for colleagues during holiday and sick leave.
- To attend relevant courses and in-house Statutory and Mandatory training as required.
- Undertake any additional tasks as requested by the practice manager.
Person Specification:
- Qualifications: Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Customer Service/Reception.
- Educated to GCSE English at Grade C or equivalent.
- Able to demonstrate effective problem solving.
- Customer Service/Reception in a similar environment.
