About Bikmo

Bikmo is the specialist cycle insurer anchored in our mission to protect the world's riders. Built by riders, we cover everything from your kids' first bike to a garage full of ebikes, e‑cargo bikes to gravel adventurers. We’ve earned the trust of an enviable partner network—British Cycling, Trek, Brompton, Cyclescheme, Cycling UK, ARBÖ and others—across direct‑to‑consumer, B2B and embedded distribution. Now we’re at an inflection point: major global cycling brands are coming on board, AI is reshaping how we work, and we’re building toward one big goal — to be the leading global specialist cycle insurer.

Job Purpose

To lead Bikmo’s Partnerships function globally—owning the channel strategy, KPIs and partner P&L in lockstep with the CXO and CEO—and to take overall responsibility for the success of Bikmo’s established partner network.

Initial 12‑Month Focus

  • Set and own the partnerships strategy—co‑developed with the CXO and CEO—covering territory priorities, target list, partner economics and the channel KPI framework.
  • Own the success of Bikmo’s established partner network—British Cycling, Trek, Brompton, Cyclescheme, Cycling UK, ARBÖ and the wider portfolio—deepening relationships, growing year‑on‑year value, and keeping Bikmo their first call for cycle insurance.
  • Land and scale new global brand partnerships—leading multi‑territory rollouts with joined‑up local teams, integrations, activation and economics.
  • Organise the team for the next stage of growth—clarify remits, embed rhythms (1:1s, pipeline reviews), and build the team plan including hiring, onboarding and capability development.
  • Embed operational discipline and the insurance distribution operating model—pipeline, CRM, forecasting, partner due diligence, onboarding, ongoing monitoring and Consumer Duty alignment, alongside Compliance and supercharged by AI.

Core Responsibilities

  • Leadership & team – Line manage the Head of Partnerships UK+IE and Head of Business Development; indirectly oversee the Partnerships Success Manager. Set roles, priorities and ways of working; embed rhythms (1:1s, pipeline and performance reviews); execute the team plan. Partner closely with the Head of Bikmo for Business on cross‑channel commercial alignment. Represent Bikmo externally with senior partners, at industry events and across the cycling, outdoor and insurance ecosystems.
  • Strategy & commercial ownership – Own the partnerships strategy, target list, segmentation, partner proposition and channel KPIs. Own and deliver the partnerships operating plan, revenue forecasts, pipeline targets and reporting cadence across UK+IE, EU (Bikmo GmbH) and selected global markets including the US. Manage commercial negotiations, contract terms and partnership economics; monitor unit economics and CAC. Champion AI across the function to raise team output, sharpen partner insight and reduce cost‑to‑serve.
  • Partner relationships & growth – Take overall responsibility for the success of Bikmo’s established partner relationships, owning senior relationships and driving year‑on‑year growth in revenue, retention and customer outcomes through better activation, joint marketing, product development and renewal terms. Lead the operational rollout of new global brand partnerships across multiple markets, joining up technical integrations, marketing activation, partner economics and customer journeys from day one.
  • Insurance distribution & operational excellence – Take operational ownership of insurance distribution within the partner channel—partner due diligence, onboarding, TOBA/contracting standards, ongoing monitoring and Consumer Duty alignment, with Compliance retaining regulated accountability. Run an effective partner‑monitoring framework covering financial, conduct, operational and reputational risk; ensure all partner‑facing materials and journeys deliver fair customer outcomes. Embed pipeline management, CRM hygiene, forecasting and reporting so the team operates consistently, efficiently and diligently with a small headcount, working closely with Marketing, Product, CX, Compliance and Finance.

In Addition

  • Play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of accountability and excellence, maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Consider the impact to our customers to ensure compliance with the Consumer Duty and the three cross‑cutting rules: to act in good faith, avoid foreseeable harm, and enable and support retail customers to pursue their financial objectives.
  • Act as a sustainability advocate that drives positive innovation and change.
  • Undertake any and all other duties as the business requires.

Your Approach to Work

  • Self‑directed, comfortable with autonomy and accountability.
  • Strong instinct for efficiency; every hour and every euro of partner spend has to count.
  • Diligent by default; set high standards without relying on others to catch errors.
  • Collaborative across time zones and working styles.

What We’re Looking For

  • Leadership – Proven experience leading and developing high‑performing partnerships, sales or commercial teams, including line management of senior heads of function, ideally across multiple territories.
  • Partner relationship ownership – Demonstrable track record of owning and growing strategic partner relationships at senior level, deepening value and retention over multi‑year horizons.
  • Commercial leadership – Strong record of securing, launching and scaling commercial partnerships, ideally with retailers, manufacturers, clubs or membership organisations within cycling, outdoor, insurance, mobility or related sectors; confident with budget and P&L ownership, pricing and unit economics; able to drive a team toward profitable growth.
  • Operational excellence – Experience embedding sales pipelines, CRM, forecasting and reporting rhythms in a fast‑growing business. Bias for efficiency—does more with less and resists complexity creep.
  • Regulated environment – Comfortable operating within a regulated insurance distribution environment, working hand‑in‑glove with Compliance.
  • Multi‑territory delivery – Experience working across markets (UK, EU and ideally US), navigating different regulatory regimes, languages and partner cultures.
  • Data & AI fluency – Comfortable working with sales, analytics and customer insights to drive decisions; actively using AI tools to raise productivity and quality.
  • Industry roots – Network across IBDs, cycling brands, governing bodies, retailers and partner organisations; passion for cycling and the outdoors.
  • Communication – Excellent written and verbal communicator, credible with senior partners, internal stakeholders and your own team.
