ARCC is a State‑of‑the‑art R&D centre invested in keeping Engineering, Design and Manufacturing in the UK. As well as designing and developing our own products and systems, we also provide mentoring to university graduates and act as an incubator facility to assist start‑ups in establishing and growing their businesses.
We are looking to strengthen our core team with experienced, ambitious individuals who are keen to work in an innovative company. The role is for an enthusiastic Bike Technician to join us to further develop and support our existing products, design and implement future products, and be involved in the full product life cycle.
Job Responsibilities
- Carry out full bike builds, servicing, repairs and diagnostics across both new and returned bikes in line with ARCC’s high standards.
- Carry out full assessments and inspections on each bicycle before commencing any work.
- Conduct pre‑delivery inspections and ensure all bikes meet ARCC’s quality and safety standards before dispatch.
- Test ride bikes to identify faults, assess performance and ensure correct system function (motor, battery, pod etc.).
- Undertake wheel building.
- Execute technical assessments and root cause analysis on customer returns or warranty cases.
- Document and review technical procedures and contribute to continuous improvement across production and service workflows.
- Support the sales and customer care team with technical information as required.
- Assist and attend shows, test‑ride events and demonstrations.
- Advise customers on repairs, upgrades and bike care.
- Oversee and manage inventory levels for bike parts and components.
- Carry out regular stock checks, report discrepancies and update inventory systems.
- Support procurement with low stock alerts and part requirements.
- Complete service and build records in line with internal procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs of technical tests and customer repairs.
Requirements (Essential)
- City & Guilds Level 2 or minimum of Cytech Level 3 qualification (required).
- Strong understanding or interest in personal electric e‑bikes.
- Minimum two years’ experience within bike servicing, maintenance, repairs, preferably e‑bikes.
- Knowledge of current bike developments.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles and a high level of technical bike-building knowledge.
- Experienced mechanic who can troubleshoot technical problems.

- Be a self‑starter and able to work as part of a team, collaborating with the wider ARCC community.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to sometimes work outside of regular hours.
