About BikePark Wales: BikePark Wales is the UK’s number one mountain bike facility located at Merthyr Tydfil on the edge of the Brecon Beacons national park just 25 minutes north of central Cardiff. The park is now an internationally recognised destination and a mecca for mountain bikers, descending on Mynydd Gethin, a 491-metre summit. BikePark Wales is a very successful business which is established in the mountain biking industry. The current offering includes over 40 world class mountain bike trails, a vehicular uplift service, café, bike shop, bike hire, coaching and many events but an ambitious development plan is now underway to both improve the existing services and add new products to the existing site.
The Role: We are seeking an energetic, responsible, and organised individual to join our team as an Uplift Queue Host Assistant. As the first point of contact for visitors, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and efficiently managing the uplift queue. You will have a passion for, previous experience with, and great understanding of what a quality visitor experience is and will consistently deliver our customer service vision. Reliability and adaptability are vital for this role, as are excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills. You will support and encourage strong team working across all departments. While your primary focus will be in the Uplift department, you’ll also assist other departments as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities to include:
- Greet visitors and provide information about the uplift process, safety guidelines, and park facilities.
- Help and guide customers when loading bikes onto the trailers and assist drivers in checking the security of the load.
- Manage the queue efficiently, ensuring smooth flow and minimising wait times.
- Coordinate with Drivers to ensure timely loading and unloading of bikes onto the uplift vehicles.
- Assist with timings and data collection.
- Enforce park rules and safety regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
General team duties:
- Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and respond positively to new and alternative systems.
- Co-operate with relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post.
- Carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with the Company’s equal opportunities policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
- Understand and comply with the Company’s environmental policies.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibilities of the post.
A keen interest in MTB and BikePark Wales.
Previous experience in customer service or hospitality roles preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with booking systems/software.
Ability to communicate in the Welsh language.
DBS certificate.
First Aid Qualifications.
