Job Overview
Join to apply for the Class 1 Drivers role at Bike Builders Bible Inc. We are currently recruiting up to three experienced HGV Class 1 drivers to support a busy logistics operation. This is a fantastic opportunity for reliable and professional drivers looking for consistent work with competitive pay and varied routes.
Responsibilities
- Store deliveries, collections, and trunking using primarily double‑deck box trailers (no curtain siders).
- Manual handling including tipping trailers, moving stock, and salvage returns.
- Typical shift lengths of 10–13 hours, aiming to average out the week.
- Minimum payable hours of 8 hours per shift (unpaid breaks).
- Up to three store deliveries or collections per day.
- Trunking routes to Leicester and Carlisle.
- Over 40 different routes daily.
Pay Rates
- Day 06:00–16:00 – £17.18 per hour.
- Noon 16:00–22:00 – £18.90 per hour.
- Night 22:00–06:00 – £20.62 per hour.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence, CPC, and Digital Tacho.
- Minimum 2 years of experience (preferred due to tight store access and narrow roads).
- New drivers considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
- Assessment required (unpaid).
Assessment & Induction
- Assessment conducted on double‑deck trailers.
- 3‑day induction for drivers with previous DHL experience.
- 5‑day induction for new drivers.
Fleet & Equipment
- Fleet: 56 Volvo, 13 Mercedes.
- Trailer type: Box trailers with tail‑lift.
- PPE: Standard issue; gloves and bump hats provided if needed.
Route Details
- Average 48‑hour week over a 17‑week period.
- Overtime paid on 6th shift or weekends.
- Up to three store deliveries or collections per day.
