Bikaneri Restaurant is looking for a highly skilled and experienced North Indian chef to join our growing team.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Has strong experience in authentic North Indian cuisine
  • Can confidently manage a busy kitchen environment
  • Maintains high standards of quality, hygiene, and consistency
  • Brings discipline, leadership, and passion to their craft

Preference:

We strongly prefer candidates who are already in the UK and have the right to work, as this allows for a smoother and quicker start. However, for truly exceptional talent, we are open to offering visa sponsorship — but only for candidates who are already based in the UK and currently working as chefs. Sponsorship will be considered strictly based on proven skill, experience, and long-term suitability.

Duties:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery of meals
  • Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a cohesive team environment
  • Monitor food safety practices, hygiene standards, and cleanliness within the kitchen area
  • Collaborate with management to develop new recipes, menu items, and presentation styles
  • Ensure all food production meets health regulations and organisational policies
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and controlling waste
  • Serve dishes to customers when required, maintaining excellent customer service standards
  • Lead by example in maintaining a positive work environment and promoting teamwork

Experience:

  • Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen or hospitality setting
  • Extensive background in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with experience managing teams in fast-paced environments
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
  • Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, including familiarity with various cuisines
  • Experience in serving customers directly is advantageous but not essential
  • A solid understanding of kitchen operations, culinary arts, and hospitality principles is essential for success in this role
