Welcome to the iconic pink and red world of Bijoux De Mimi, Gen Z’s favourite colourful jewellery brand.
We specialise in high-quality, reasonably priced, colourful jewellery that’s playful, bold, and made to be worn every day. We started with colourful huggie earrings and have since gone on to bangles, chunky hoops, bracelets, stacking rings to dopamine-bright necklaces, Bijoux De Mimi is all about accessible jewellery with a fun, colourful vibe using our eight iconic colourways. So far, all of our jewellery has been designed in-house by our founder, Amelia, working directly from sketches in collaboration with our manufacturers. Now, as Bijoux De Mimi continues to grow, we’re looking to streamline this process. Our goal is to develop stronger products rooted in research and design thinking, supported by manufacture-friendly files that make the sampling process smoother, faster, and 100x easier.
We’re looking for a super experienced freelance jewellery designer to collaborate with us in turning ideas into collections that excite our audience and expand our brand. This role is more than design, it’s about capturing the DNA of Bijoux De Mimi and translating it into jewellery that feels bright, expressive, and on-trend, while always being practical for production.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with our team to develop new collections that align with Bijoux De Mimi’s vibrant aesthetic.
- Translate brand direction into moodboards, sketches, and polished design concepts, and think of concepts yourself.
- Deliver production-ready jewellery designs that balance creativity with manufacturing feasibility.
- Keep a close eye on fashion and jewellery trends that resonate with Gen Z, ensuring our collections always feel ahead of the curve.
- Explore variations and our playful colourways (plating, stone colours, chain lengths, etc.) to maximise mix-and-match styling.
- Additionally create packaging card mock ups for each product you design.
Deliverables You’ll Be Responsible For
- Moodboards / Inspiration Decks to align on vibe before design starts.
- Initial Concept Sketches, sometimes with the direction of our founder, sometimes not, multiple directions to spark conversation.
- Refined CAD Models (3D files) ready for manufacturing.
- Technical Drawings with precise dimensions, weights, tolerances.
- 3D Renders presentation-ready for both marketing and manufacturer approvals.
- Production-Ready Files STL/3DM files for mould creation.
- Style Variations – plating, stones, lengths, interchangeable details using our colourways.
- Packaging Cards specifications for each new product, to align with our current system.
What We Don’t Want
- Sketches without the technical drawings required for manufacturing.
- Designs that aren’t production-friendly.
- Overly luxury-focused aesthetics that don’t connect with Gen Z’s playful, colourful side.
- Portfolios or personalities that don’t resonate with Bijoux De Mimi’s bold Gen Z-driven vibe.
Skills & Tools We Expect
- CAD & Rendering: Rhino, Matrix, KeyShot (or similar).
- Technical Drawing Expertise: Dimensions, stone settings, prongs, tolerances.
- Illustration & Concept Sketching: Ability to explore ideas quickly.
- Trend Research: Knowledge of Gen Z jewellery trends, colour palettes, and playful styling.
- Material Knowledge: Copper, stainless steel, gold plate, PVD electroplate, zirconia.
- Social Media Awareness: Familiarity with our followers, Gen-z trend focussed girls.
About the Role
- Type: Freelance, project-based (at present, full collections will be created semi-regularly, not consistently).
- Location: Remote or in our Fulham Road office (your choice and flexible).
- Compensation: Dependent on experience and portfolio strength, negotiated rates.
