Overview

Junior Buyer (Parts, Accessories & Lubricants) role at Bihr. This is a permanent, full-time position based in the UK. Bihr is the leading European distributor of rider gear, spare parts, accessories and tyres for motorcycles and related vehicles, with a broad brand portfolio and extensive logistics capability.

About the group: Moto Direct and Race FX form part of Bihr. Bihr NV, the UK division, operates across two UK locations and is part of Arrowhead. The company supports a large network of dealers and offers a wide range of brands and products in the motorsport sector.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Procurement & Inventory Manager in executing stock strategies to maximise product availability, optimise inventory turns, and minimise dead stocks.
  • Assist in optimising inbound transportation costs and ensure smooth import of goods from assigned suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates in the ERP system for supplier confirmations and inbound delivery information.
  • Handle supplier invoices accurately and promptly.
  • Communicate with internal teams (Customer Service, Warehouse) on planned product arrivals, stock levels, and potential shortages.
  • Contribute to performance tracking through KPIs such as product availability, inventory turns, procurement execution efficiency, and supplier performance.
  • Procurement Execution
    • Review and execute purchase order proposals based on demand planning guidelines and procurement exceptions.
    • Follow up on purchase orders with suppliers to ensure timely confirmations and deliveries.
    • Verify and validate supplier invoices for accuracy.
    • Administer inbound deliveries and organise inbound transport as needed.
    • Monitor inbound costs versus the value of imported goods for assigned suppliers.
  • Inventory Support
    • Assist in future demand planning based on seasonal activities.
    • Provide input on projected inventory and availability levels, raising alerts for potential issues.
    • Ensure accurate visibility on planned product arrivals for assigned SKUs.
  • Communication & Collaboration
    • Maintain close communication with internal stakeholders regarding product arrivals and stock projections.
    • Support the team in tracking supplier performance and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Assist in preparing reports on procurement activities and KPIs.
  • Team Contribution
    • Work collaboratively within the procurement team to achieve objectives and participate in training to master processes and systems.

Requirements

Essential Skills

  • A minimum of 1–2 years\’ experience in demand planning, procurement, buying, or inventory role. Graduates in relevant fields will also be considered.
  • Practical experience with ERP software (Dynamics NAV ideal but not essential). Training will be given.
  • Familiarity with planning and inventory management software and/or methodology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Pragmatic and efficient with good analytical skills.
  • A willingness to learn and receive on-the-job training.

Desirable Skills

  • CIPS certification or working towards it.
  • European languages.
  • Motorcycle industry knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

The position is based in the UK and may require some travel within the UK and internationally.
