Laboratory Interiors - Life Sciences - Design & Build
An well established and growing interiors business is looking to appoint an experienced Life Sciences Networker / Business Developer to help expand its presence across the laboratory and science sector.
This is a relationship-led position for someone who already understands the UK life sciences and laboratory market and, most importantly, has an established network of contacts who can generate introductions, conversations and project opportunities.
The successful individual could come from a Design & Build, laboratory design, fit-out, consultancy, property or wider life sciences background. What matters most is their network, credibility and ability to open doors.
The Role
The Networker / Business Developer will be responsible for identifying and developing new opportunities across the laboratory and life sciences market, building relationships with key decision-makers and positioning the business at the earliest possible stage of a project.
They will:
- Develop and leverage an existing network across the laboratory and life sciences sector
- Generate new project opportunities through relationships, networking and targeted business development
- Build relationships with developers, landlords, asset managers, occupiers, scientists, laboratory operators, consultants, project managers and property advisers
- Develop relationships with organisations involved in the creation, expansion and relocation of laboratory environments
- Identify upcoming projects before they reach the wider market
- Secure introductions, meetings, pitches and tender opportunities
- Work closely with the internal design, pre-construction and delivery teams to convert opportunities into live projects
- Attend industry events, networking functions and sector-specific conferences
- Build long-term relationships rather than focusing purely on short-term sales
- Help strengthen the company's reputation and visibility within the growing Life Sciences market
The Ideal Candidate
They are particularly interested in speaking with someone who:
- Has an established network within the laboratory / life sciences market
- Can demonstrate genuine relationships with key decision-makers and influencers
- Understands how laboratory, R&D and science-led projects are procured
- Has experience within business development, networking, client relations or a commercially focused role
- Ideally understands laboratory design, fit-out, construction or Design & Build
- Is confident dealing with senior stakeholders and developing relationships from first introduction through to project opportunity
- Is commercially driven, personable and credible
- Enjoys being out in the market, meeting clients and creating opportunities
- Has the ability to turn a strong network into a sustainable pipeline of work
