Furniture Project Manager

London

Up to £55,000

I'm working with an established furniture dealership delivering furniture packages up to £1.5m across commercial projects in London.

They've recently celebrated their 18th birthday and have built a business where people tend to stay. Most of the team are long-standing, the company is employee-owned, and everyone I've spoken to genuinely enjoys working there.

They're looking for an experienced Furniture Project Manager who can hit the ground running and take ownership of projects from order through to delivery and installation.

You'll be dealing with suppliers, clients, contractors and the warehouse, making sure everything is where it needs to be and when it needs to be there. You'll be the eyes and ears across your projects, keeping the tracker healthy, picking up issues early and making sure the client gets the level of service they're expecting.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing furniture packages up to £1.5m from order through to installation

• Checking and chasing supplier acknowledgements against purchase orders

• Managing deliveries into the warehouse and directly to site in line with project programmes

• Coordinating weekly delivery runs with suppliers, clients and the warehouse

• Keeping project trackers updated and making sure projects stay on track

• Managing day-to-day client communication and coordinating third-party contractors

• Carrying out site surveys, assessing access, parking, lifts, inductions, drawings and site requirements

• Producing schedules of works and coordinating these with everyone involved

• Attending site meetings and gathering the information needed to keep projects moving

• Managing smaller installations and supporting the delivery of larger installations

• Coordinating contractors and ensuring they have everything required to deliver properly

• Identifying and managing snags through to resolution

• Handling quotations, order amendments, storage invoicing and other project administration as required

Why it's a good opportunity:

You'll be joining a business that's been around for 18 years, has a strong reputation in the furniture sector and has built a team around long-term relationships rather than constant staff turnover.

It's an Employee Owned Trust, with two directors working alongside sales support, account managers, project managers and business development. You'll have a good team around you without being buried in layers of management.

There's also plenty going on outside of the day job, with company holidays and regular social events. More importantly, the people already there seem to genuinely enjoy working together, which isn't something you can say about every business.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Furniture Project Manager or in a similar furniture project delivery role

• Strong understanding of furniture procurement, deliveries and installation

• Able to manage multiple projects and keep on top of deadlines

• Confident dealing with clients, suppliers, contractors and site teams

• Comfortable carrying out site surveys and attending site meetings

• Strong attention to detail when checking orders, acknowledgements and delivery information

• Good organisational and communication skills

• Able to hit the ground running and take ownership of projects from day one

What's on offer:

• Up to £55,000 salary

• Employee Owned Trust structure

• Established business with 18 years' trading history

• Furniture packages up to £1.5m

• Long-standing and supportive team

• Company holidays and regular social events

• Genuine opportunity to build a long-term career with the business

If you're an experienced Furniture Project Manager looking for a stable business, a good team around you and projects where you'll have genuine ownership, this one's worth a chat.
