The Opportunity
We’re recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK’s fastest growing main contractors, who have already secured over £500m worth of work for 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to take commercial lead on a £25m new build industrial warehouse scheme in Reading, reporting directly to the Commercial Director. Once you have delivered the project successfully or shown the client what you can do, you will be given the promotion/step up to Managing Quantity Surveyor. You will take the project from pre-construction all the way through to handover, working closely alongside a Project Manager and playing a key part in ensuring the project is delivered successfully.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Take full commercial responsibility for a £25m new build industrial warehouse project
- Manage costs, procurement, and subcontractor packages throughout the lifecycle
- Prepare and negotiate contracts, valuations, and variations
- Lead monthly CVRs, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
- Drive value engineering and cost‑saving initiatives
- Ensure robust contract and cost control at every stage
- Liaise closely with the Project Manager, clients, consultants, and delivery teams
- Report directly to the Commercial Director
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Managing Surveyor on new build projects
- Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
- Experience with industrial, logistics, or large‑scale commercial schemes
- Excellent cost management, negotiation, and reporting skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative project team
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
