The Opportunity
We’re looking for a talented Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor renowned for delivering exceptional projects across a multitude of sectors. You’ll work on and be the commercial lead on a circa £5m Commercial New Build Project. This is the ideal opportunity for a driven Quantity Surveyor seeking to take ownership of exciting projects, support career progression, and play a key role in a market-leading contractor.
What You'll Be Doing
- Take commercial responsibility for a £5m New Build Project in Hertfordshire
- Prepare and negotiate subcontractor packages and procurement schedules
- Lead CVRs, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
- Maintain robust cost control and risk management across projects
- Drive value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
- Manage change control processes and oversee final accounts
- Liaise confidently with clients, consultants, and internal teams
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in new build or refurbishment projects (ideally £2m–£20m)
- Strong understanding of JCT contracts and commercial best practice
- Background in commercial, office, hotel, education or leisure schemes preferred
- Excellent negotiation, reporting, and leadership skills
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
