Job Description: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of our structural, cut and carve, and high-end fit-out projects ranging in value from about £5-20m+. Your role will involve cost estimation, contract administration, budget management, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to maintain the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for high-end residential and commercial office projects.
- Monitor and manage project costs, budgets, and financial performance.
- Oversee the procurement process, including negotiation of contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Evaluate project variations, change orders, and claims, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.
- Collaborate with the project team to optimize cost efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
- Provide cost advice and guidance to senior management and clients.
- Mentor and lead junior members of the quantity surveying team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Membership in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on structural, cut and carve, and high-end fit-out projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as MS Excel and quantity surveying software.
- A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset with a keen eye for detail.
