Based in central London, Big Sky comprises 15 studios and stages, spanning 75,000 sq ft over 5 different sites offering traditional white coves, green screens, blank canvases, virtual production suites with green screen and LED walls alongside a unique rooftop studio with undisturbed London Skyline views. To enable our spaces, we offer in-house services of lighting, digital, catering, set-build and post production, alongside a full service ecom and social content agency.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The HR Advisor role is a standalone position responsible for delivering comprehensive HR support across the organisation. While operating independently, the role is supported by a dedicated HR consultancy firm and team of employment lawyers to provide additional expertise and guidance. This position plays a critical part in navigating the business through a period of exciting change and growth, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the company’s evolving culture and operational success.

The role will report to the Global Head of Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the business with all aspect of HR.
  • Ensuring that accurate employee data and records are kept.
  • Managing the monthly payroll accurately and on time, in collaboration with Finance.
  • Managing employee benefits programs, handling benefits queries and making improvement and changes as the business evolves.
  • Acting as the employee relations lead and ensuring employment law is followed accurately
  • Leading employee relations matters by advising managers and supporting investigations and resolutions.
  • Proactively working with the Global Head of Operations to support to help define the culture of the business.
  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Partnering with managers to strengthen their understanding of HR policies and best practices.
  • Advising and supporting managers on performance management, absence management, and employee development.
  • Assisting with recruitment activities as needed, from job posting to candidate onboarding.
  • Serving as a primary HR point of contact for all employees, offering guidance and support.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Staying informed of current and upcoming HR legislation to ensure compliance and proactive planning.
  • Continuously reviewing, maintaining, and enhancing HR systems, practices, and processes to improve efficiency.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • At least 3 to 4 years in a HR Manager role
  • With a level 7 CIPD
  • Excellent understanding of UK employment law
  • A healthy mix of commercial knowledge and people experience
  • Hands on and flexible approach
  • Able to utilise previous HR experience to suggest ideas for improvement
  • Self-starter and able to work on own initiative but also to engage with the team as needed
