This is a genuine digital transformation leadership role, not a caretaker IT job. You’re a senior technology leader who can set direction and deliver. Someone who sees digital as a commercial growth engine, not a support function. We’re working with a rapidly scaling, multi-site consumer-facing organisation that’s investing heavily in technology, data and digital platforms to reshape customer experience, unlock growth, and simplify operations at scale.
You’ll own the end-to-end digital and technology strategy, spanning:
- Customer-facing digital platforms
- Core business systems and integrations
- Data, insight and analytics
- Cyber security, risk and compliance
- Infrastructure, service delivery and suppliers
Fundamentally your remit is to create and develop a modern, secure, scalable digital ecosystem that drives revenue, retention and operational efficiency across a national estate.
What you’ll actually be doing:
- Defining and delivering a clear, commercially aligned digital and technology strategy
- Leading large-scale digital transformation programmes that materially improve customer experience
- Using data and digital products to increase sales, improve retention and reduce manual effort
- Leading and developing a senior, multi-disciplinary technology team (circa 50 people across digital, data, applications, infrastructure and security)
- Owning supplier strategy and commercial outcomes, not just contracts
- Partnering with operational and executive stakeholders to translate business problems into scalable technology solutions
- Managing OPEX and CAPEX with board-level accountability
You’ll need:
- Proven leadership of IT and Digital functions in a complex, multi-site environment
- A track record of delivering digital change, not just designing PowerPoint strategies
- Strong experience across digital platforms, applications, data, infrastructure and cyber security
- Confidence operating at board level, translating tech into commercial outcomes
- Deep understanding of supplier management, contracts and value delivery
- Experience operating within regulated or accredited environments (e.g. ISO27001, PCI, Cyber Essentials)
- Experience of working in retail, leisure or hospitality is very advantageous
Why this one’s different:
- This role sits at the centre of growth strategy, not the edge of the org chart
- Genuine exec-level influence with the remit to modernise, simplify and scale
- A rare chance to reshape and enhance digital foundations across a national footprint
