This isn't a role where you'll inherit someone else's roadmap and spend your time tweaking it around the edges - you'll be helping shape it. This organisation is investing heavily in its data capability, and they're looking for someone who can bring structure to complexity, create a long-term architectural vision and help turn data into a genuine business asset.
You'll be the person connecting Technology, Data and Transformation teams, making sure everyone is pulling in the same direction - it's a role with genuine influence. One day you might be mapping enterprise data flows and defining governance standards. The next you'll be working with engineering teams on cloud data platforms, representing the data function at architecture boards, or helping senior stakeholders understand how better information architecture can unlock better decisions.
There's plenty of variety, but the common theme is ownership of the new Data Platform. A Data Product Owner. They're looking for someone who enjoys asking "Why are we doing it this way?" before designing something better.
You'll probably have experience with most of the following:
- Enterprise data architecture
- Data modelling and governance
- Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP
- SQL Server, Oracle or similar database technologies
- Data integration tools
- Modern data warehouse and analytics solutions
- Working with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric would be very useful, but it certainly isn't a deal-breaker.
This isn't the kind of environment where architecture sits in a document gathering dust. The work you do will shape how data is managed across the organisation for years to come. You'll have the backing to improve standards, introduce best practice, mentor others and genuinely influence the direction of travel.
It's a predominantly remote role, visiting the central London offices twice a month to be with the teams. If you're someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges and wants a role where your opinion actually carries weight, we'd love to tell you more.
