Most agencies talk about commercial accountability. Fewer actually build it. BIG Partnership is looking for a Client Services Director to do exactly that, owning portfolio performance, client leadership and team development across a growing integrated agency.
What we need
An experienced Client Services Director who can own the performance of our client portfolio, develop the people who run it, and bring genuine commercial rigour to how we manage and grow client relationships.
The honest version of this brief: there are disciplines across client leadership, forecasting, account planning, commercial governance and portfolio performance that currently sit across a number of people. You'll consolidate them, own them, and make them work consistently. In doing so, you'll create capacity for the leadership team to focus on growth and strategy, and give the client services team a clearer operating framework than they currently have.
This is not a role for someone who wants to manage relationships and leave the numbers to someone else. Commercial accountability is as central to this brief as client leadership.
The person we're looking for
You've spent your career in agency life and you're good at it. You understand how client relationships work, how they grow, and how they fall apart. You know the difference between an account that's healthy and one that's quietly at risk, and you act on that before it becomes a problem.
You're as comfortable talking margin and utilisation as you are sitting in a senior client meeting. Commercial conversations don't make you uncomfortable. You've had them enough times to do them well.
You've led teams, not just managed them. You've coached Account Directors who needed to get better at holding a room, pushed back on scope creep without losing the client, and built the kind of operating rhythm that means things don't fall through the gaps. You know what a well-run account looks like in practice, not just in theory.
You're probably a Client Services Director or Client Partner already, or a Senior Group Account Director who has outgrown the role. Either way, you'll have a portfolio behind you that grew under your watch, a team that improved because of you, and numbers you're prepared to stand behind.
What you won't be is someone who relies on charm and relationships alone. The agencies that do that plateau. You've seen it. You want to build something that performs consistently, and you know the discipline that takes.
The day-to-day
You'll lead a team of Senior Account Directors, Account Directors and Account Managers, acting as their senior coach and the person who holds them to a higher commercial standard. You'll own portfolio reviews, forecasting, scoping, over-servicing conversations and account planning across the agency. You'll report directly to a Board Director, work closely with our PR, Studio, Operations and Finance leads, and sit at the table for leadership decisions.
On the client side, you'll be the senior escalation point, the person key clients call when they want strategic counsel rather than a status update, and the driver of cross-sell and growth conversations across our disciplines.
