BIG Partnership is one of the UK's leading integrated communications agencies, with offices in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Manchester. We work across PR, public affairs, marketing, digital and creative for clients spanning energy, financial services, food and drink, and the public sector.
This is a varied, hands-on role at the centre of BIG Partnership, reporting directly to our CEO. You will keep our people, offices and operations running smoothly across the agency. One day you might be coordinating interviews for a new hire, the next managing a facilities issue, supporting an employee relations matter, or arranging board meetings and travel for the leadership team. It is a role that suits an organised, practical operator who enjoys variety, takes ownership and gets satisfaction from being the person colleagues trust to make things happen.
Hours: Full-time (four-day week considered)
What you will be doing
- People and recruitment: You will coordinate HR activity across the business and own the recruitment process from advert to onboarding. That includes maintaining employee records, preparing contracts, coordinating appraisals and supporting employee relations matters alongside our external HR advisers.
- Offices and facilities: You will keep our Glasgow, Aberdeen and Manchester offices running smoothly: suppliers, repairs, supplies, improvements, and the kind of small things that compound into a well-run workplace.
- Health and safety: You will coordinate H&S activity across all locations, maintain records, and ensure we continue to meet our compliance obligations.
- Executive support: You will provide direct support to the CEO: meetings, travel, board administration and helping move things forward across the business.
About you
We are less interested in job titles than in finding the right person. You might currently be an office manager, HR coordinator, operations coordinator, senior PA or EA, practice manager, or in another role that combines administration, people support and operational responsibility.
What matters most:
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
- Practical, common-sense approach to solving problems
- Ability to manage competing priorities and take ownership
Some experience across HR, recruitment, facilities or business support is welcome but not essential. More important is that you're the kind of person who notices the thing nobody asked them to notice, fixes it, and says nothing about it until someone asks. Agencies are fast and sometimes unpredictable, meaning no two days are the same. The person we're looking for brings calm to that, not friction. You'll have opinions about how things should work, and you'll make the case for them. You won't wait to be told twice.
The Perks
We are a fast-paced independent agency, with a collaborative and supportive culture and a real emphasis on helping every member of our team achieve their potential. We value energy and commitment highly. If you’re the right person for this opportunity, you can count on:
- A brilliant holiday allowance, including a day off for your birthday, a day off for charity work of your choice and a half day for Christmas shopping.
- Senior investment and time into your career development.
- Coaching, training, and mentoring programmes, with support for professional memberships and study.
