The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and well-connected Independent Sales Agent to represent an established Italian furniture manufacturer and support the growth of its sales across the UK market. The initial focus will be on developing sales for the company’s bedroom furniture range, including identifying new customers, building relationships with retailers and securing new commercial opportunities. This opportunity would suit an independent agent who already works with furniture retailers, independent stores, buying groups, wholesalers, interior businesses or other relevant customers in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new sales opportunities across the UK furniture market
- Introduce the company’s bedroom furniture collection to suitable prospective customers
- Build and manage relationships with furniture retailers, distributors, buying groups and other relevant partners
- Arrange and attend sales meetings, presentations and product introductions
- Follow up with prospective customers and support commercial negotiations
- Provide feedback on market trends, customer requirements and competitor activity
- Represent the company professionally within the UK market
- Attend relevant furniture trade fairs and industry events where appropriate
- Work closely with the Italian head office to develop the UK market and support customer enquiries
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience selling furniture, home furnishings or related interior products
- An established network of contacts within the UK furniture industry
- Strong relationships with independent retailers, furniture chains, buying groups, wholesalers or distributors
- Experience in bedroom, cabinet, flat-pack or home furniture would be particularly valuable
- Commercially driven and confident in developing new business
- Strong communication, presentation and relationship-management skills
- Able to work independently and manage the complete sales process
- Willing to travel within the UK to meet customers and attend trade events
- Existing complementary product lines would be welcomed, provided there is no direct conflict
