We are working with a great locally based Company who specialise in glass and steel fabrication. Due to securing some long term and new and exciting contracts, we now need to recruit an outstanding fabricator to join the team.
We are looking for the following key skills:
- Cut, shape, and form metal using tools such as saws, grinders, plasma cutters, and presses.
- Weld components using MIG, TIG, or MMA techniques depending on project requirements.
- Assemble fabricated parts into finished products or structures.
- Operate machinery including rollers, guillotines, brake presses, and CNC equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Measure and mark out materials accurately using appropriate tools.
- Ensure all work meets dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
Quality & Safety:
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, defects, and compliance with specifications.
- Follow all workshop safety procedures, including PPE use and safe machine operation.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free working environment.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in metal fabrication or a similar engineering role.
- Ability to weld (MIG/TIG/Stick) to a competent standard.
- Confident using hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery.
- Strong understanding of fabrication techniques and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with stainless steel, aluminium, or bespoke fabrication work.
- Knowledge of CNC machinery or CAD/CAM systems.
- Forklift or overhead crane experience.
- Relevant engineering or fabrication qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, etc.).
