Employment Work Coach (Maternity Cover) role at Big Creative Education.

Key Tasks

  • IAG (Information, Advice & Guidance) qualification at Level 3 or above (or willingness to work towards).
  • Experience of delivering employability workshops or group training.
  • Knowledge of welfare-to-work and skills funding programmes.
  • Knowledge of the Creative Sector industries and how to access opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

  • To develop links with employers that result in employment opportunities for learners.
  • To account manage employment opportunities and be the first point of contact for employers.
  • To have a sound understanding of the creative industries and key labour market trends.
  • To provide tailored careers advice and guidance to learners starting a career in the creative industries.
  • To support learners in preparing for an employer opportunity, ensuring they have the appropriate documents, skills and attitudes.
  • To maintain a progression tracker for all learner progression, including supporting evidence.
  • To manage a candidate database of CVs and portfolios to fulfil employer needs.
  • To embed yourself into the programme to know the young people and adults, in order to successfully place them into sustainable opportunities.
  • Promote vacancies to potential candidates and coordinate rigorous screening sessions.

Essential Qualities

  • Experience of working in employability, careers guidance, recruitment, training, or related support services.
  • Strong coaching and motivational skills with the ability to inspire adults from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience delivering employability training and preparation for entering the job market.
  • Ability to track learner progress post-programme and capture outcome evidence for funding/contract purposes.
  • Knowledge of the local labour market and current recruitment practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage caseloads, meet targets, and work effectively under funding requirements (preferably within DWP / AEB / ASF or similar contracts).
  • Competent IT skills, including MS Office and online job platforms.

Essential Qualifications

  • Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent (Level 2).
  • Degree/relevant qualification in the subject area.
  • Experience of working in employer engagement.

Salary and Days of Work

  • 21 hours for 3 days a week for 52 weeks per year.
  • Pro rata of 25 days of annual leave plus UK bank holidays.
  • This is a fixed-term part-time position until Oct 2026.
  • Start Date Oct 2025.
  • Pro rata of annual salary FTE £36,750 (actual salary £22,050).
