Big Brothers Big Sisters is a national child mentoring programme that provides caring adult volunteers to children who need it most.

Are you a caring adult with a few hours to spare? BBBS is a relatively new charity in the UK (although well established in the USA), and we are looking for caring adult Mentors for children who, for whatever reason, are unable to live with their birth parents.

As a Mentor, you would spend a few hours a month, over a period of a year or more, with a child that is suitably matched. You will spend time together doing simple activities, such as riding a bike or picking up conkers.

Just a few hours a month doing fun activities together can really help a child develop confidence, explore their horizons, and build meaningful, healthy relationships.

We offer a Welcome Pack available on request, which provides full details of this wonderful programme.

What skills do I need?

You need to have patience, kindness, and a willingness to walk alongside a young person. We welcome adult Mentors of all ages and from all walks of life, and we provide full training and support throughout your journey together.
