We are currently looking for a talented and driven Landscape Designer to work on a number of high-profile projects at BIG’s London studio. You will be based in the office together with a vibrant, multidisciplinary team of 200+ BIGsters, and will be responsible for the delivery of projects of varying scale and typology in the Middle East and UK, including masterplans, buildings, and public realm design.
Key responsibilities:
- Utilising strong conceptual and design skills to generate creative, responsive, and boundary-pushing ideas in collaboration with a variety of stakeholders
- Contributing to technical development of landscape projects; producing and coordinating drawing sets, ensuring design intent and quality across all stages
- Drawing on proven experience with grading design, planting design, natural systems, materials, and technical aspects of landscape design
- Developing design options in collaboration with and in support of architectural design teams; supporting senior team members in coordinating with architects to ensure cohesive project delivery and maintain design intent
- Communicating and presenting to internal design teams and client groups
- Mentoring more junior team members in both design and technical developments
- Working with senior team members to create excitement and interest around landscape architecture and advancing the agenda on the future of urban design, mobility, ecology and infrastructure
- 2-5 years’ experience as a Landscape Architect/Designer
- Professional degree in Landscape Architecture (background in Architecture or Urban Design will also be considered)
- Experience working in the Middle East, on masterplans, and working on hospitality projects is preferable
- Proficiency in Rhino, Revit and Adobe Suite is essential, Enscape and V-Ray is desirable
- Influential and confident in client presentation and team communications
- Able to take initiative in response to direction from senior team members
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure with an open and flexible attitude
- Experience in an array of typologies (public, private, master planning) and technical realms (resiliency, large and small scale) is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (spoken and written)

This is a full-time position based out of BIG’s London office. Working together and collaborating in the same space is integral to our culture, so all our staff are expected to work from the office every day.
