Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off - Days 6am-6pm, Nights 6pm-6am
Location: South Kirkby, Wakefield
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure that the plant is always maintained within prescribed Health, Safety and Environmental constraints and guidelines.
- Report and communicate incidents as per our Eco Online System.
- Attend team safety and maintenance meetings and lead meetings where necessary.
- Ensure that a work order, risk assessment and method statement is produced for each activity and that all documents are completed and returned for archiving.
- Ensure that all statutory and regulatory obligations are met in the ongoing operation and maintenance of the site.
- Establish, follow and maintain Risk Assessments & Method Statements and other key safety protocols.
- Ensure that LOTO Procedures are being followed amongst the Team.
General Duties
- Effectively manage the day to day running of your shift.
- Ensure that shift reports are completed and distributed out, and highlight any additional works.
- Effective diagnosis ensuring repairs are completed safely, swiftly, completely, and economically.
- Ensure that your shift is fully manned for covering potential sicknesses, and holidays with cover from opposite shifts where possible.
- Undertake work both personally and in close liaison with shift team members and external contractors.
- Demonstrate a team approach with operational colleagues.
- Work prescribed shift pattern to support out of hour's preventative maintenance works.
- Maintain workshop, tooling and LOLER equipment to meet policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Work with technical engineering support and maintenance planning to ensure that first line diagnosis and maintenance activities in conjunction with current procedures is carried out in order to preserve the highest levels of safety, environmental compliance, plant integrity and availability.
- Support and be accountable for ensuring maintenance KPI targets are achieved.
- Advise and make recommendations on overall spares holdings, service suppliers and develop lists of critical parts.
- Assist the Engineering Maintenance Manager and his team in the development of a comprehensive set of plant maintenance procedures.
- Undertake effective training and monitoring of personal development to ensure competence to undertake your duties, ensuring skills and flexibility are developed and maintained via consistent application of work reviews, training plans, performance Development Reviews, site policies & procedures, team briefings and feedback sessions.
