A quick look at the role. The Traffic Planner is responsible for managing the day to day organisation of operations in the depot through the allocation and basic routing of vehicles. You will ensure best in class service delivery to customers, ensuring health and safety standards are maintained and ensuring environmental and O Licence compliance. Permanent and Full Time Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. This role can accommodate working from home but would also involve some travel in the South Yorkshire & Humberside area.

Your Core Responsibilities

  • Call handling - liaising with customers and/or our internal call centres and Biffa drivers
  • Daily debrief of Biffa drivers - assisting with confirmation of work plus dealing with any anomalies/issues
  • Liaising with Biffa's customer service department and/or direct with customers to resolve issues - including any hazards identified by drivers
  • Order processing and confirmation + running and clearing daily reports
  • Administrative tasks and housekeeping

Our Essential Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the local area
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate in writing, on a one to one basis and via the phone with all levels including management, team members and internal/external customers
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise effectively
  • Experience of working to strict deadlines in a time critical environment
  • A willingness to adapt and develop skill-sets and knowledge which is determined by the role/business
  • Computer literate - comfortable using business software and Microsoft Office Suite (specifically strong knowledge of Excel)
