Help us make a difference as a Stores Keeper at our facility in Ipswich. The role holder will organise and maintain the stores, inventory/stock levels and the stores systems. They will carry out regular stock checks ensuring stock is available when needed, source replacement parts and organise the refurbishment of interchangeable parts, and maintain the stores facilities and quarantine areas. This position is Monday to Friday – 45 hours per week. Working hours: 0700–1700 or 0600–1600. Pay: £14.28 per hour – £33,415 per annum.
Responsibilities
- Comply fully with all safety instructions, policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and all others present.
- Support the engineering manager in the development of the stores and inventory.
- Carry out weekly stock checks/audits to ensure actual stock levels are correct as in the CMMS.
- Identify potential areas for improvements in the stores or the systems.
- Use the CMMS fully as per the company procedures to ensure there are no stock outs.
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure the best quality products are purchased at the best prices, and communicate issues to the management.
- Issue stores inventory to engineering and contractor staff in line with company requirements.
- Manage deliveries of inventory and collection of parts for refurbishment, including management of non-conforming products.
- Maintain the workplace, tools and engineering facilities to prevent hazards and risks in the workplace and to promote effective engineering practices.
