Senior Financial Analyst
Your role will be integral to the success of the newly created Divisional Accounting team. Covering cost accounting across the business, you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Divisional Accounting with driving the TOM strategy, developing a standardised approach to cost accounting postings and processes across all the Divisions while also implementing new processes and improving appropriate controls. While initially not having direct line management requirements, the role will involve coaching of Financial Analysts within the team.
Your core responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of month end accounts to meet internal reporting deadlines and agreed SLAs with Finance end users.
- Assist in the development of financial controls, processes and disciplines. Support the Head of Divisional Accounting in ongoing monitoring and improvements to the control environment.
- Provide robust challenge to Divisional finance teams on appropriate accounting treatment to ensure all postings are compliant with accounting standards and principles.
- Assist in capacity planning and team resource allocation.
- Supporting team members and reviewing month end outputs.
- Preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Drive the introduction of new working practices and develop existing schedules to ensure they are fit for purpose and provide required outputs.
- Work closely with Finance Optimization Team and Divisional & Group FBPs on process improvements and future development requests.
Minimum requirements
- Fully or part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Proven track record of building excellent working relationships with senior leaders of a large-sized business
- Strong system skills including advanced Excel and Power BI
- Management accounting experience gained in the service, logistics or waste industries an advantage
