Help us make a difference as an Operations Manager.
A quick look at the role.
Based at our green energy site in Hull, you\’ll support the Site Manager in driving profitability and growing our recovery and treatment operations, all while meeting company standards, EQHS guidelines and licence/permit conditions. You\’ll take charge of the day-to-day running of the facility, working closely with internal teams and third-party partners to ensure safe, efficient plant operations. A key part of the role will be boosting morale, strengthening our safety culture and positioning the site to meet future demands.
Your Core Responsibilities.
- Develop and improve the safety culture, reducing incidents and accidents. Monitor compliance, set achievable targets for continual improvement, review weekly H&S statistics, and ensure all incidents are reviewed with improvements actioned.
- Achieve the P&L budget for the year.
- Support the Site Manager in creating a flexible framework for a customer-focused team environment and positioning the business for future market growth.
- Work with and support the site\’s Engineering function to ensure compliance and operational performance.
- Work with third-party resource suppliers to ensure compliance and fulfilment.
- Improve the EE score at the site and provide personal development opportunities for all staff.
- Continually review performance statistics and implement cost-effective processes to maintain or improve profitability.
- Review all costs weekly to ensure the company attains value for money on all services and products purchased.
- Act as a focal point for large-scale customer care and development, working closely with the National Commercial Manager.
- Lead any projects requested by the company
Requirements
Our essential requirements.
- COTC Level 4 and IOSH Safety for Managers (NEBOSH Certificate and Degree-level education desirable).
- Proven experience managing in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment.
- Strong health and safety management skills with knowledge of environmental compliance.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing budgets, including creation and understanding of P&Ls.
- Technical understanding of engineering, accounting, and HR processes.
- Experience in 24/7 operations, with involvement in project management or continuous improvement initiatives
