In this role you will report to the Operations Manager and be responsible for supervising employees and managing the resources needed to effectively collect recycling and general waste and carry out street cleansing activities for the Contract. You will ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Contract, Biffa Policies and Procedures, industry-related legislation and health and safety legislation and guidance.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and organise daily tasks, arranging crew deployment, allocating vehicles, plant and materials to ensure that work is carried out according to contractual requirements.
- Prepare and record resource schedules for all work programmes to ensure adequate staffing levels, vehicles, plant and materials are available to meet contract schedules.
- Responsible for day-to-day staff management including induction, attendance and performance management in line with relevant Biffa policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain a positive working relationship with the Local Authority clients, attending regular meetings as necessary and carrying out joint monitoring and site visits when required.
- Identify and explore new revenue opportunities.
- Maintain all records and systems to ensure the effective operation of the contract.

- Knowledge of Health and Safety Policy & Procedures.
- Previous operational experience in a similar role/environment.
- Hold a valid and clean UK Driving Licence.
